Meet Dr. Van De Loo

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Van De Loo initially started with primary care and family practice but was drawn to helping her patients work through their mental health concerns. As the pandemic began, she began seeing more patients with suicidal ideation, depression, and anxiety, and her passion drove her to become certified in mental health and complete an advanced practice residency in psychiatry through the Medical College of Wisconsin to better serve her patient population. Dr. Van De Loo is a dual certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP).

Dr. Van De Loo strives to help patients find each stepping stone on their journey to a healthier lifestyle and improved quality of life. She values the differences between patients and emphasizes quality of care over quantity of medication and utilizes therapeutic techniques such as CBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing. Through fostering a trusting collaboration with open communication, she works with her patients to determine their next stepping stones rather than assigning tasks.

Why Naturopathy

Mental Health and Wellness

Holistic Approach

Since there are more neurotransmitters in the stomach than in the brain, balanced nutrition is important to improving mental health.

Poor sleep can lead to substance relapse, attention difficulty, lack of activity, and can be a symptom of a number of mental health conditions.

Many substances lead to a decreased effect of medications and can hinder mood, sleep, self-esteem, motivation, and more.

For each stepping stone of your journey, it is important to determine which treatment option is best for you as an individual. For each person, the best option may be lifestyle changes, therapy, and/or medication.

Increasing physical activity can be helpful for improved mood, increased self-esteem, and improved focus and concentration.

Increasing self-esteem and self-worth can be a challenge for many, but we take this challenge in small steps and discuss each stepping stone along the way on your individualized path.
